REGULATORY FRAMEWORK

CFIA Registration Process

Microbial supplements and biofertilizers for sale in Canada are registered with CFIA under the Fertilizers Act and Regulations.

Standard CFIA Registration Pathway

All microbial supplements and biofertilizers for sale in Canada must be registered with CFIA under the Fertilizers Act and Regulations. The registration process includes: microbial strain identification and characterization; CFU viability and stability testing; product safety assessment; labelling review for accuracy and compliance.

Full Regulatory Approval

Products undergo comprehensive pre-market evaluation to ensure safety for human health, animal safety, and environmental protection. Upon approval, products receive a CFIA registration number authorizing national distribution and sale across Canada.

Key Difference from U.S.

Canada does not have an equivalent of the U.S. minimum-risk exemption for fertilizers; all microbial supplements must be registered with CFIA under the Fertilizers Act regardless of risk profile.

Our Registration Path

EL-I Tech™ is pursuing CFIA registration under the Fertilizers Act as a Soil Amendment Fertilizer. Upon approval, this registration will authorize national distribution and sale throughout Canada.
