Certain regulatory requirements applicable in Northern Ireland may differ from those applying in Great Britain due to the Windsor Framework and related UK – EU arrangements. Where products, services, or market access requirements are subject to EU-aligned rules in Northern Ireland, additional obligations may apply.
Data protection. Northern Ireland remains subject to the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with oversight by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The Irish Data Protection Commission does not have jurisdiction over Northern Ireland.
Goods and cross-border trade. Where EU law applies in relation to goods, customs, SPS / agri-input rules, or CE / UKCA marking, supplementary EU compliance requirements may also apply in Northern Ireland. EL-I Tech™ products moving between Great Britain and Northern Ireland may attract additional notification or authorisation steps beyond those required for the GB market alone.
